Pharmacists are health professionals with the skills and knowledge to manage patients’ understanding and utilization of medication, in order to optimize medicines related to health outcomes. Pharmacists play a significant role in the pharmacy industry particularly in new drug development and innovation. Here are 5 more reasons why pharmacy is the choice:

The Monash Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is internationally renowned as a key research centre in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences and home to the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS). The MIPS comprises the largest and most experienced group of pharmaceutical scientists in Australia.
3)Great lecturers
Staff at the faculty are recognized as leaders and innovators in their field and Monash’s academic staff-student ratio is higher than that of the average Australian universities.
4)Fabulous student life
The Sunway campus offers a vibrant and international learning environment. Students are encouraged to participate in campus activities and contribute to its administration.
5)Location
The Sunway campus is located in Bandar Sunway, a thriving township that offers the full range of amenities within easy reach.
The Faculty
The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash University (formerly the Victorian College of Pharmacy) engages in world-class research and is a leading provider of education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Under the Monash Faculty operational matrix, the Bachelor of Pharmacy program is also offered in Sunway campus, and the program will commence in 2009.
Accreditation status
To maintain consistency of entry standards, the Pharmacy program in Sunway campus has a similar entry level with the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash Australia. The Pharmacy program which will be offered in 2009 has been given a provisional accreditation by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. The accreditation process is ongoing and full accreditation should take place when the program reaches its final year (the 4th year).
Currently Australia is undergoing the development of a national-based accreditation board for Pharmacy to replace the existing state-based accreditation bodies. The whole process is expected to be completed by 2010. Sunway Campus will also apply for accreditation from this board at the earliest opportunity.
